Cordyceps, known as Cordyceps militaris, is a complex of fungus Cordyceps militaris parasitic on the larvae of bat moth larvae and its larvae. The artificially cultivated cordyceps can be divided into two kinds: Cordyceps militaris and Cordyceps mycelium (P.patens mycelia, CS-4). Cordyceps militaris is obtained by artificially growing live insects on cordyceps militaris. Cordyceps mycelia is a fermentation process in which wheat flour is used as a medium for the cultivation of Cordyceps mycelia. Cordycepin cordycepic acid, and cordyceps polysaccharides are the main indicators of Cordyceps militaris. Therefore, cordyceps also has a very high medical value.

Cordyceps Extract also known as Chinese caterpillar fungus, Caterpillar fungi are the result of a parasitic relationship between the fungus and the larva of the ghost moth genus Thitarodes. It is mainly produced in China, Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu, and Guizhou provinces, alpine areas and mountain grasslands.
