Product Description

Fluorouracil is a DNA/RNA synthesis inhibitor and a pyrimidine analog drug belonging to antimetabolism. 5-FU can generate FUMP and F-dUMP through different pathways. F-dUMP can be covalently combined with the active center of thymidylate synthase to inhibit the activity of thymidylate synthase, resulting in the lack of deoxynucleotides and DNA synthesis disorders. Metabolites of 5 fluorouracil can also be incorporated into RNA and DNA in the form of pseudo-metabolites, affecting cell function and producing cytotoxicity.
