Portulaca oleracea, a genus of annual herbs of the family Portulaca, glabrous throughout; Stems prostrate or reclining, widely
spread, much branched, cylindrical, 10-15 cm long, pale green or reddish. Stems purplish red, leaves alternate, sometimes subopposite, leaves flat, thick, obovate, horse-toothed, 1-3 cm long, 0.6 -- 1.5 cm wide, apical obtuse or truncated, dark green above, light green or reddish below, midrib slightly raised; Petiole stubby. Capsule ovoid, ca. 5 mm, cap lobed; Seeds fine, mostly oblique globose, dark brown, glossy, less than 1 mm in diameter, with small warty protrusions.
